Arts Clubs

CNU Voices: The purpose of this club shall be to provide students with the opportunity to perform choral works ranging from the Renaissance to Contemporary periods in a small group setting, and to facilitate knowledge of choral repertoire, rehearsal technique, and performance practice.

Dance Fusion: Dance Fusion seeks to provide Christopher Newport University students with a venue and experience that will allow them to expand their dance vocabulary. The club is designed to give students the opportunity to try dance styles not necessarily offered in the CNU dance curriculum and provide opportunities to teach as well as be taught by guest instructors with professional backgrounds.

Extravaganza: This cultural clubs purpose is to allow students to interact with each other, to share a common interest, to allow students to gain interest in more musical styles, to help students expand and express their musical talent and to develop teamwork and leadership skills.

Photography Club: The Photography Club works to assist students in developing photography skills, showcasing their talents and helping its members to recognize, through art, the beauty on and off campus.

Silver Storm Dance Team: Silver Storm provides the campus experienced dancers an outlet to perform with other students who share ability and talent in dance. The team promotes school spirit through participation in athletic and social events.

Uncommon Ground: The purpose of Uncommon Ground is to provide an outlet for outstanding vocal jazz singing and studying in a small group setting. It performs a variety of jazz literature both unaccompanied and with rhythm combo. Members are exposed to various singing styles including Swing, Blues, Funk, Latin, Doo Wop, Pop, and Solo Styling.
