9/22 Crime Update
The big news around campus is the violent incident that involved the CNU organization Men Of Vision and Excellence (MOVE). Ruckus broke out after the event, held in the Ferguson Studio Theatre, when the capacity was compromised.
“University Police were called to assist when disagreements in the crowd occurred,” says Lori Jacobs, with public relations. CNU students were uninvolved in the “disagreements” and the event was closed down when fire and safety codes were breached.
CNU Police attribute this incident to understaffing. In other events, two more alcohol violations were added to the collection. The Avenue of the Arts witnessed some DUI action, and East Campus had not only an alcohol violation, but also a drug violation. The student is charged with underage possession and marijuana possession, and will be visiting CHECS shortly.
Two bikes were stolen over the weekend, on unsecured bike in the CNU village, and one secured bike outside of Ratcliff. LOT V was site to a hit and run incident, a decent amount of damage was inflicted on the vehicle, but no arrests have been made.
