Fitness class guide: Yoga Flow

Vinyasa Yoga combines breathing and movement together into a flow where different yoga positions are timed to match breathing patterns. This style of yoga has been said to strengthen both the mind and body.

At CNU, junior Morgan Creekmore leads Yoga Flow, a fitness class offered by the Freeman Center that brings elements of vinyasa yoga into a non-stop progression of yoga positions that improve muscle strength and overall health. Yoga Flow is just one of the eleven fitness classes offered by the Freeman Center.

Creekmore instructs the yoga class using her own lesson plans and her own style. Standing just over 5 feet, Creekmore holds authority in the Freeman Center’s multi purpose room, showing the class how to master the moves. She plays Disney music for her yoga classes, creating a light-heartened environment.

The class starts at a beginner’s level, but as the semester continues the positions will become more complex. Some positions are tricky at first, but don’t give up! Learning to control your breathing is critical for yoga, and will make the moves easier to hold.
