Newport News police have identified a suspect in a homicide investigation that occurred around two a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12 in the parking lot of the Magnuson Hotel on Omni Boulevard.
According to police, two officers working extra duty at the hotel responded to gunshots, calling for assistance and medics. One victim, a 23-year-old Hampton man, was pronounced dead at the scene by medics. Another 23-year-old male victim with a non-life threatening gunshot wound was transported to the local hospital, police said.
