The submissions that have been received so far:
“I am almost scared to say anything negative about CHECS, as I am about
to graduate and I do not want any more trouble with the school. I have
had several experiences with CHECS. I have been both guilty and
innocent of charges for which I have been accused. What bothers me is
that the whole judicial process seems to be run on a ‘guilty until
proven innocent’ basis. I have experienced firsthand accusations of
lying and breaking the honor code simply by claiming innocence. The
general consensus I and my peers have reached is that CHECS is more of
a Salem-style witch hunt than true justice.”

“CHECS is what happens when the people handing out punishments arent
held accountable by anybody.”

“CHECS it’s OKAY. The person taking Jill’s spot this year is much more
reasonable in her decision making as to what your sanctions should be.
Jill’s punishments were all the same and never took to understand what
an inconvenience community service hours is, or sending people to a
plagiarism class when plagiarism has nothing to do with the situation.
CNU also just needs to spend their time on something other than
looking for every bad move the kids make. We are adults now, back off.”

“CHECS has always been, and always will be a “guilty until proven
innocent” system. The sanctions are never in line with the
infractions. It is sad, and unjust. But I suppose when you sign the
line accepting your invitation as a student of CNU, you are signing a
contract to abide by the the schools constitution, however misguided
and unjust . . .”
